Why Temp Mail Addresses Expire
Temporary email services are designed for single-session use. The address and its inbox exist in server memory or are tied to a browser session cookie. Once the tab closes or the session expires — typically after 60 minutes of inactivity — the address is released. No storage, no recovery, no archive.
This is intentional behavior, not a bug. The whole value proposition of temp mail is non-persistence. That said, some specific scenarios require accessing the same address more than once.
Method 1: Keep the Tab Open
The simplest method. As long as the TempMail.pk browser tab remains open and the session has not expired from inactivity, the address is active and the inbox continues to receive mail. This works for multi-step signups that send confirmation emails at intervals.
Method 2: Copy and Save the Address Before Closing
- Before closing TempMail.pk, copy the full email address shown at the top of the inbox.
- Paste it into a notes app, a text file, or a password manager.
- When access to that inbox is needed again, open TempMail.pk.
- Look for an option to enter a custom address or paste in a previous address.
- Note: this method works only if the session has not yet expired on the server side.
Method 3: Use Temp Mail with a Password (Advanced)
TempMail.pk offers a password feature that ties an inbox to a password rather than a session cookie. Generating an address with a password makes the inbox accessible from any device for as long as the service retains the password-protected inbox. See the dedicated guide to temp mail with a password for full setup instructions.
What Cannot Be Recovered
- An address generated in a session that has already expired. That address, and any emails it received, are permanently gone.
- Emails received before the current session started. Temp mail services do not maintain persistent logs.
- Addresses from other temp mail services. TempMail.pk only manages addresses generated on TempMail.pk.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the same temp mail address on two devices at the same time?
Only if the address was generated with a password, or if both devices access the session through a shared URL. Standard session-based temp mail is device-local.
My verification email never arrived. Can I resend it to the same address?
Yes — as long as the session is still active and the address is still valid, requesting a resend from the original site delivers the email to the same temp mail inbox.
